At The Spectrum School, our Physical Therapy (PT) program is designed to support children with special needs in developing the physical skills they need to participate fully in daily life. Our experienced and certified Physical Therapists work closely with our students, teachers, and families to create personalized therapy plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.
Goals of Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapy program aims to:
- Improve gross motor skills, including walking, running, jumping, and balance
- Enhance mobility and range of motion
- Develop strength, flexibility, and coordination
- Improve posture and reduce risk of injury
- Enhance participation in physical activities and sports
- Support independence in daily living skills, such as dressing and self-care
At The Spectrum School, our Behavior Therapy program is designed to support children with special needs in developing positive behaviors, social skills, and emotional regulation. Our experienced and certified Behavior Therapists work closely with our students, teachers, and families to create personalized therapy plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.
Goals of Behavior Therapy
Our Behavior Therapy program aims to:
- Reduce problem behaviors, such as aggression, self-injury, and tantrums
- Develop positive replacement behaviors, such as communication, social skills, and emotional regulation
- Enhance social skills, including initiating and maintaining conversations, sharing, and cooperation
- Improve emotional regulation, including recognizing and managing emotions
- Increase independence and self-management skills

Our experienced and certified Occupational Therapists work closely with our students, teachers, and families to create personalized therapy plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.

- Enhance cognitive skills, such as attention, memory, and problem-solving

Our experienced and certified Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) work closely with our students, teachers, and families to create personalized therapy plans that address each child's unique needs and goals.

- Develop articulation, fluency, and voice quality
- Improve language comprehension and expression

- Support literacy development, including reading and writing skills
